So came the idea of this little poll : "What would you* like to see on the zope welcome screen after installation? * as a newbie. * as an experienced zopist. what i'd really like to see is some working example of a well-built (whatever that means) zope website, featuring every basic function you could possibly want in the basic package (user management, catalogs, workflow, some python products, etc...) this way, people who think they know what they're doing could start experimenting with some working code in a matter of minutes and not reimplement basic stuff just to see how zope handles it... imho ;-))) $ven
Here is my $.02: * as a newbie: Several "canned" sites in varying levels of complexity showcasing some of Zope strengths. (CMF,SquishDot,Wiki) etc. * as an experienced zopist Short and sweet description of the changes/improvements/modifications/etc over previous version The "experience zopist" should be pretty easy to implement. The "newbie" could be implemented two ways: *Newbie distro, including appropriate products, which incorporates the "canned" sites *Newbie "samples" which could be easily imported/added into their Zope instance.
