When logging into zope via ftp, the authentication works fine, but the service hangs indefinitely upone requesting a file list. Anyone encountered and/or solved this problem? I also experience this when I log in to my zope server from outside of my local network. I am connected with an ADSL line via a Cisco 677 router and although I know next to nothing about this I guess that the router doesn't establish a NAT entry for the ftp control port. /Thomas fonnesbeck@fisher.forestry.uga.edu wrote:

Aha! This exactly seems to be the problem. I can log in fine from inside the university network (which has no firewall, incidently), but from home or any other location, it does not work. This is strange, because authentication works fine, its on the request for a file list that it chokes. Is there a solution to this problem?? Thanks, C. Use passive mode FTP and it should work. fonnesbeck@fisher.forestry.uga.edu wrote:
