wouldn't the entry-level Zope hosting be something to be organized by the EuroZope Verein ?

This would be a great idea. Wouldn't it be possible to have a dedicated server somewhere, and a system to share the costs ? This may gives enough money to offer free zope hosting to small non-commercial sites...

Just a hint, in germany there's http://www.hostsharing.net/ (german only, google might give an idea) It's a "Genossenschaft", they use a certain juristical construct to build a community where everyone pays an entry fee and monthly fees, but owns part of the whole thing. Perhaps they would even be willing to set up zope in exchange for manpower. Or it's possible to adapt the idea for an eurozope hosting. They use debian iirc. cheers, oliver
