Re: [Zope] Mozilla 0.9.4 (Was: Problems with Mozilla-0.9.3)
Mozilla 0.9.4 is still not usable for ZMI. It works fine for a few pages, but after a random number of ZMI operations Mozilla starts to show rendered page instead of Edit view...
We don't see this at ekit, and there's several people who use mozilla on linux _all_ the time. Hell, I track the trunk CVS, and I rarely have a problem - I haven't seen a basic auth regression for months :) mmmm bugzilly goodness. -- Anthony Baxter <anthony@interlink.com.au> It's never too late to have a happy childhood.
I'm using (successfully) Mozilla 0.9.3/Win2000 for the ZMI and did not notice the problems you mention. With IE5.5, I'm often warned for Javascript errors (when running with the MS script debugger) especially when working with Version objects. This does not appear to people when the MS script debugger is not installed. IE5 just silently cancels buggy scripts in that case. --Gilles ----- Original Message ----- From: "Anthony Baxter" <anthony@interlink.com.au> To: "Milos Prudek" <milos.prudek@worldonline.cz> Cc: <zope@zope.org> Sent: Saturday, September 22, 2001 12:00 PM Subject: Re: [Zope] Mozilla 0.9.4 (Was: Problems with Mozilla-0.9.3)

I missed the start of this thread but wanted to ditto the problem (Mozilla-0.9.3 - Ximian on RH 7.0-1). I UNinstalled it (and libnspr, ignoring Ximian's dependency complaints), installed Mozilla 0.9.4 and added Galeon on top of that: WOW, WHAT A GREAT BROWSER!!! (Galeon) If you have the time, give it a try (X platforms, Gnome and KDE I believe. Oh... and it seems to solve my Zope problem). -Ron

I hate to contradict you, but I experience it regularly. For any empty folder, when I click it in the left pane (tree view), the right pane does not display the (empty) folder contents, but rather displays the nearest index_html. Hovering over the left pane I can see that folder hyperlink goes to http://folder_name/manage_workspace, but when I actually right-click the folder in the left pane to open in new window, I get redirected to http://folder_name/index_html. It happens for vast majority of existing empty folders. It does not seem to happen for folders newly created using mozilla (sic!) It can always be rectified manually by typing the URL http://folder_name/manage_main, but that gets tiresome pretty soon. Very strange. -- Milos Prudek
The problem seems to be somewhat weird. I have the same effect with Mozilla and Zope on my box at home when I access the instance from inside my private network. When I access the site from outside the network the misbehaviour disappears. Maybe a closer HTTP analysis will help. I just installed Zope on my Linux machine and it gives me localhost.locadomain as the hostname, how can I change that, as it actually has a valid IP ? Thanks Jerry Lake - jlake@US.NET Interface Engineering Technician
