shifted zope on port 80 but ZMI/site is not coming
Hello list, Always thankfull to the list for help. :) NOw problem is .. I was running zope on 8080 and was using VHM , At that time my site was accessable by www.name.com:8080 Then i shifted zope on port 80 and started it on the same port, with a hope that i will be able to access my site by www.name.com. But after starting zope on port 80 , i am unable to even access ZMI . Zope is running as per /var/log/zope.debug.log. what can be the problem. If i try to access ZMI now by both http://www.name.com/manage OR http://IP:80/manage, browser gives me time out error. Waiting for response. Are you doing the random things necessary to get Zope to run on low ports under Linux (as I assume from your signature)? These are documented in doc/SECURITY.txt . I don't know what the symptoms of doing it wrong are, but it may be that it will run but simply cannot answer on the port. Fyi, the best way to do that is to have Apache do a rewrite for you, especially if you're on the public network. --jcc -- "Code generators follow the 80/20 rule.
