Greetings, Thanks for the reply, but I don't think I made myself very clear. When I start the zope server as root (linux here) and run the ./start file on line 494 the problem happens. Can't create the file! 1.) Can I uninstall Zope so that I can try it again 2.) Does upgrading python have anything to do with it? currently I am running 1.5.2 from the python web site.

Fiends of Zope,
After installing the source code for Zope 2.0. I try to run the start sript ./Zope/start and I get the error /var/Z2.py permission denied! This file does not exist in this directory. What is rwrong?
