hi again, "

yes sorry about that I'll be more specific. my setup >> NovellNetware file server, with 20 win95 machines mapped sharing a couple of folders on that server. all workstations have IPX/SPX setup, no TCP/IP. I just want to be able to run Zope on this setup so that each machine will be able to access the Zope interface. I tried installing Zope on a 95machine on that setup and running it. installed OK, froze up on startup. I tried installing TCP/IP on few machines and installing Zope on that. Still no luck. I can't even PING machines with new TCP/IP settings. Can I just run Zope using current IPX/SPX settings? Can I put TCP/IP on one win95 machine and use that IP in my browser without giving ALL the machines IP numbers? or do I have to run Zope in a Novell Shared folder somehow? Well, you need TCP/IP obviously. You will have to make sure you have a proper TCP/IP setup first.
I tried installing Zope on a 95machine on that setup and running it. installed OK, froze up on startup.
There is a delay on startup when the machine tries to figure out who it is by making a reverse DNS lookup. If it doesn't have a DNS, then this will take a minute or so, and the server will appear frozen.
or do I have to run Zope in a Novell Shared folder somehow?
That wouldn't help one bit. You need TCP/IP. Yes every PC needs an IP-address, no you don't have to assign to every machine manually, you can use DHCP to do dynamic assignments of IP-addresses. Ask on a NetWare forum. news:comp.os.netware.connectivity is one, if you like news.

Your post results in much eye-rolling... sorry. Zope is a (mostly) web server, hence it's mostly useful to web browsers, all of which run on TCP/IP. So the short answer is, you must install and properly configure TCP/IP with individual IP addresses on all machines that will connect to the Zope server.. ANd the Zope server machine must also have TCP/IP properly installed and configured.
