I said that we would schedule the first board meeting on the 22nd, not
that we would have it.
I think it is very very important to have the board established
and met before EP and I want to leave a reasonably large window
to allow for the unexpected. Also, I see no reason for delay.
We need to get off our collective posteriors and get going.
Strategic developers and consumers should be able to decide
who to appoint between now and then. We should have no problem
finishing the committer elections between now and then.
The only open question is how associate and solution-provider members
will be handled. In theory, we will need to hold elections for them,
but so far we have no associate members, and have one solution
provider, so this is currently moot. I expect that we'll have so few
of these
that we will be able to handle this informally. I'd be open to
requiring that
they join further to give time for an election.

I'm willing to do that. I don't see that it makes much difference.
