Agreed.  As far as I can tell, non-profit status primarily serves to
allow individuals to claim a deduction for a donation to the ZF and
provides some assurance that the donation won't go to enrich an
individual or company (non-profits can only give funds to other
non-profits, etc.).

Unless there is something that prohibits going non-profit in the future,
the foundation might as well wait until there is strong, demonstrated
demand for non-profit status before putting in the work.
