[ZODB-Dev] Replicating data over disconnected servers.

I've begun the hard work of actually replicating the data I've stored in
ZODB across the dialup lines to another location. This will present a
special challenge to me and I'm a bit quesy about it.
The main issue: copying over objects with references to other objects. In
this case, I have to assure copy closure and guarantee that all objects
are copied over. But apart from that, I also have to take special care to
update all the objects' references to one another. This is the hard part,
but I can only guess it's limited to following references on the objects,
copying the dependents and updating the references.
This sounds terrible.
Is this approach reasonable? Has anybody done mass copying of objects over
temporary (dialup is a good example) links?
Take care,
