Just a quick check -- you are importing into the Control Panel | Products
folder, right?  ZClass-based products are still products, and can only live
there.  ZClass _instances_, on the other hand, can be imported almost anywhere
_except_ there.

I could be wrong above -- this is not the error I see when trying to import a
"product" export file into a normal folder.
