When upgrading Plone, an eXtreme Sport please do not upgrade your production
instance.
You should always install it on a development instance, try to migrate your
objects and then
move the development instance into production spot.  I would hold on until
Plone 1.0 comes
out, unless you are a eXtreme Sporter.
