[Zope-CMF] upgrade to 1.3 leaves docs without portal_type

hi, I'm in the painstaking (emphasis on pain) process of upgrading to CMF
1.3. I've noticed that many of the Portal Documents (esp ones that are
"older") now have no portal type. Under the workflows tab it says their
portal type is "None". and of course the objects are not viewable bc the
view methods for them can't be found.

any ideas on how to solve this? tia.
