[Zope-CMF] Filtering calendar views with portal_types and subjects

I've put this request to collector, but thougth also ask wether anyone 
else has any ideas of how this should, could or must not be done.

What I need - is the ability to create one calendar, which shows for 
example either all the events or just events from certaing subject or 
portal_type. With this people could create a portal for example for 
clubs that have different sections and interests. Standard calendar 
could then be used and in skins just filter out those events that don't 
fit to the users selection.

Does anyone else feel that this is a good feature?
