[Zope-CMF] CMF 1.4 Roadmap

I have one, but it's in such bad shape. Well, it's in good enough
shape (it works), but it's led me to a major act of vaporware by
promising a CMF focused release and I've just had no time. I was
hoping for a contract that would require it enough for me to clean it
up, but that didn't come through.
It's too intertwined with a customer project (sigh) to be released even
as a proof. And I'm not too sure how some would like it - some people
prefer compound documents to be folderish. I went a different route
and went towards an OpenDoc inspired model of Documents (the abstract
shell) containing Parts/PartContainers. It's an approach that works
decently with through-the-web complex document editing, but not
terribly well with FTP or other means. Basically - I'm not sure if my
solution is generic enough for inclusion with the CMF (and it builds on
its own complex framework that would need cleaning).
I'll note that the design I went with differs heavily from the design
proposed in the compound proposal I wrote up on cmf.zope.org many a
year ago. It does not involve templates, but tries better to
accommodate free-form addition of parts (I think CMFArticle tries to do
this).
Perhaps I'll be able to share more when I get back, if time permits.
Or, if anyone's going to be at LinuxExpo NY, look for me at the Zope
booth this week, and I'll be willing to talk about it.
