Is this package only an "application toolkit" for
subscription or can it be applied immediately to existing
portal content?

Could it be used to provide a site-wide content update
notification system for Plone? Are there any other
packages that work with Plone which might provide such
notifications? Is it possible to "batch" notifications
and/or subscriptions into, say weekly, digests?
