These seem to me to be substantial enough to warrant some discussion.  You
should probably propose them - you could start off by asking about them
here.  Oh - you just did.  Good start!-)

While adding "wait=1" to manage_pack seems small, it touches a lot of
stuff - with sticky visible things like perhaps the ZEO protocol, probably
the control panel UI, etc.  (UI changes mean doc changes, and anyway need
some agreement.)  So while i was flippant about the "good start", i was
also serious - it's good to start with discussion on substantial changes,
see what brian (on the zope side) and tres (on the CMF side) in particular
have to say, before diving in and hacking.
