Issue #414 Update (Request) "HEAD request method broken"
 Status Pending, Zope/feature+solution medium

= Request - Entry #1 by Anonymous User on Jun 2, 2002 7:25 pm

This is in reference the HEAD method not being
available within zope as specified in the HTTP specs,
please see the following for further info:

http://collector.zope.org/Zope/381/ISSUE_TRANSCRIPT/view

HEAD is in the RFC for HTTP/1.0 and HTTP/1.1 and
is a necessary HTTP command to have. For instance
search engines make extensive use of this command.

Here are some patches that can be applied to
Zope 2.3.2 (and probably earlier and later versions
if you take the same context) to implement HEAD.

I'm not a python expert, so if somebody would like
to check it into the tree or make a Hotfix, I would be greatful.

The patch is available at:

http://www.AuroraChasers.com/HeadCase/

Mark Simpson
