While running zope and FLE3 (a zope product) I encountered a lot of hangings while there were multiple users at the same time.

On two of such occasions I was able to get following message:

Error: IOError
[Errno 13] Permission denied: '/var/lib/zope/zope-2_6_1/var/Data.fs.index.index_
tmp' 

The file in questing didn't exist. Restarting zope cleared the problem.

As the same python/zope/fle3 version combination is in use in other single processor computers without any problems I suppose that the cause is some locking problem that appears only in multiprocessor systems.

Unfortunately I can't provide more concrete debug. We have started running zope with just one thread and the service hasn't hanged after that for me to check the problem in more detail.
