I wasn't able to change the value of the cache size in zope.conf, too. The value is stucked to the default value of ZODB.DB.DB. ZConfig seems *not* to be implemented for ZODB configuration. The values are hardwired in Zope.Startup.datatypes.

Oops, didn't mean to reject this... the bug needs to be fixed.  The bug isn't that it can't be changed, however.. the fix to the bug is simply removing the capability from the control panel.

The bug is actually showing the input box that makes you think you can change it through the web.  You cannot (in Zope 2.7+).

Instead use the cache-size key in the zope.conf file for the main zodb-database.

This bug isn't fixed in the Zope-2_7-branch. I don't know wether it is fixed in the head or not.

I'm not able to change the cache size. I tried in ZMI/Databases/Main and with <zodb_db main> ... cache-size 5000. The amount is stucked to 400.
