This was my point. I have written a very simple DTML Method that produces a
product list as XML.

It could be a DTML Document, it could use caching (If I had access to it),
it could accept query parameters, but for the moment it just runs an
unrestricted query in the catalog for all software products, and outputs key
details as XML.

My intention for it is to use it as input to a ZPM style patch in my
PatchKit, but if the XML goes to the wall, so does the idea.... :(
