By coincidence I was just discussing with Christian
Tismer why I had jumped off the CORBA bandwagon last
year.  The eccentricities of vendor implementations made
it difficult to deploy applications in a timely fashion.  

My current opinion is these kind of applications are
best suited for organizations blessed with an overstaffed
pool of software developers.
