I would oppose this as making it a newsgroup or gatewaying to news
attracts a lot of noise traffic such as "what is zope ?" ( 10 times a
day ),
spam, Zope vs other technology flamefests etc. which tends to cause a
lot of valuable
contributors to leave. E-mail tends to be handled with a lot more
immediacy
and value compared to Usenet.
I have found the foll methods useful for high traffic lists -
1) Set up filters and check the filtered zope folder once or more a day.
I tend to set/unset the filters so that the tasks I am working on
currently remain email-foreground i.e. in my inbox while those
currently
not of active interest go to folders until they become "hot" again.
Also important but high value traffic goes to filtered folders that I
check
more often than my inbox some days.
OR
2) Subscribe to the digest
OR
3) Unsubscribe but check the archives periodically.
Overall I find that e-mail is the real killer app of the Internet and
my Inbox gets attention far more than Usenet or even web-based list
archives.
