When running Core Session Tracking with a Session Data Container in an
Externally Mounted non-undoing storage, Versions stop working.
If you join a version, you will get this error when committing a
transaction that used CST:
Error Type: Unsupported
Error Value: Versions aren't supported
Is there anyway this could be fixed?

Don't use REQUEST.resolve_url. It's depricated and it was pretty dumb to=

I expected that, Michel. ;) Although I'd already tried it without succe=
ss,
your reply at least nudged me to poke around a bit more, and I discovered=
that it is the .read() that causes the difficulty.
This:
<dtml-boundary type=3Dapplication/octet-stream disposition=3Dattachment
encode=3Dbase64><dtml-var
expr=3D"restrictedTraverse(SendDoc).read()"></dtml-mime>
</dtml-sendmail>
fails with an attribute error on the read(). I got the read() syntax fro=
m
the Zope book =
http://www.zope.org/Members/michel/ZB/AdvDTML.dtml and an archived list
message http://lists.zope.org/pipermail/zope/2000-August/116944.html. I=
t
appears to be incorrect for this case, though I'll be damned if I know wh=
y.
For the record, REQUEST.resolve_url still failed with a namespace error w=
hen
I removed the read(). You've convinced me, I'll use restrictedTraverse f=
rom
now on! :-)

No can do. I have some sort of corruption in the ODB that becomes apparen=
t
when I try upgrading (see trace below). On top of this I don't want to dr=
ag

hmm, sounds complicated. Actually sounds like ZODBReplication or
synchronization. Can you outline in a little more detail how you would do=
this? How do you tweak the modification time etc?

I think the answer depends on which storage you're using to hold the
external data container, and might be "dont use that storage".
I actually have a suspicion that CST has nothing to do with it, and that
if the mounted external database was (for example) a FileStorage, that
this error might never happen.
But that poses a problem, because to my knowledge, there are no
version-aware but non-unoing storages, of course.
Sigh. The answer is... "not practically", I believe.

Sounds like a slightly malformed RewriteRule. Can you post it?

I suspect that you'll need RewriteRules. Something like:
RewriteRule /survey.cgi - [L]
RewriteRule /(.*) http://www.oursite.com:9673/$1 [P,L]
The ProxyPassReverse *may* still do its job, but I recommend a
VirtualHostMonster anyway.

If it isn't a typo in your post, the following certainly needs to be
corrected:
> INST_HOME=3D`cd $reldir; pwd`
=2E..should be INSTANCE_HOME.
This may also need to be edited, to correct paths:

The error looks like a Python configuration problem. Can you start Pytho=

Not unless you're going to use ZEO, in which case see the ZEO installatio=

Subject: [Zope] Problems installing Zope Perl
Hi everybody,
I'm trying to install Zope Perl on Windows following andym's How-To, but =

have some problems.
When I run this command:
D:\Temp\pyperl-1.0.1\Python-Object>perl makefile.pl
I obtain this output:

Looks good
Note (probably harmless): No library found for '../perlpyd.lib'
Writing Makefile for Python::Object
It doesn't find perlpyd.lib, is it normal? And more, it's really harmless=

Anyway, it makes the makefile, but when I run this command:

this is the result:

To test if an object (actually, its ID) is in the folder, ask the list=
of IDs:
if "my_id" in folder.objectIds():...
To test a property use object.hasProperty("p_id")

Subject: [Zope] Finding unique objects in a ZCatalog returned list
Hello,
I'm doing quick search using several indexes in a ZCatalog as below
<dtml-in expr=3D"Catalog(title=3Dquery) + =
Catalog(category=3Dquery) + =
Catalog(description=3Dquery) + =
Catalog(product=3Dquery) + =
Catalog(keywords=3Dquery)">
This works really well. However, if my query string is found in more than=
one index I get the same object returned more than once. =
How do I sort the list of objects returned and more importantly remove
duplicate objects?
Thanks for any help.

Put all results in a dictionary, mapping URL to object. Do it in Pytho=

Oops, forgot to say, that even this does not guarantee uniquness.
Consider these URLs:
http://my.server/Folder
http://my.server/Folder/
http://my.server/Folder/index_html
3 different URLs point to the same object.

It depends on the form action, your DTML or Python code and the
user. Did the user press the submit-button multiple times? What
do you mean exactly by "similar values/data"?
I think you have to be more specific...

Thanks for the suggestion Oleg,
Would the rid be unique in this case? Would this be a better key to use?
All the objects returned are my own ZClasses so alternatively I could add=
a
property which I could make sure is unique for all items.
Any thoughts anyone?
Thanks
Mike

How do I change the unauthorized access error message in Zope?
It don't seem to be the standard_error_message.

Ah, I see: there's a loop around your insert statement on line
482 of add_message.py that doesn't check its loop condition
correctly :-)
I'm sorry, but you'll have to be even more specific. Stories are
hard to debug.
Did you write this message board yourself, or is it a standard
product that you downloaded from elsewhere? Is the source code
available somewhere on the Net?
Did you verify that the method that processes the form and adds
the message is called only once?

do this in a pythonscript :
for i in context.ZopeFind(container, obj_metatypes=3D('Page
Template',),search_sub =3D 1, obj_mtime=3D'18.06.2001'):
print """<p><a href=3D"%s">%s</a></p>""" % (i[1],i[0])
return printed
tweak as required.
here is the entry for ZopeFind in the ZopeQuickREference with some
more info:
-------------------------
Find
ZopeFind(obj, [obj_ids, obj_metatypes, obj_searchterm, obj_expr, obj_mtim=
e,
obj_mspec, obj_permission, obj_roles, search_sub, REQUEST, result, pre])
Zope Find Interface
=
Examples:
<dtml-var standard_html_header>
=
This will list all object ids in the current folder<br>
=
<dtml-in "ZopeFind(this())">

<dtml-var "_['sequence-item'][0]">

</dtml-in>

</dtml-var standard_html_footer>

obj is the object to start looking from (in our example, this()) and is
the only required argument
The next 8 arguments are find terms, for example, if an obj=
ect
has an id
you specify with 'obj_ids', it will be returned.
search_sub means recursivly descend into sub folders, defau=
lt is
0.
REQUEST is, as allways, the request object.
result and pre are used by the recursion machinery and shou=
ld
not be diddled with.
ZopeFind returns a list of two item tuples. The first item=
is
the
object's id, the second is it path *relative to the 'obj'
argument*.
=
ZopeFindAndApply(obj, [obj_ids, obj_metatypes, obj_searchterm, obj_expr,
obj_mtime, obj_mspec, obj_permission, obj_roles, search_sub=3D0, REQUEST,=
result, pre, apply_func, apply_path])
Zope Find and apply interface, difference from ZopeFind: apply_func and
apply_path parameters, used to find and catalog objects.

I worked a little on this again it really is like that: If you do a dtml-=
in
"Catalog(sort_on=3D'property')"> where more than 1 objects have the same =
value
for this property, the dtml-in fails.
I bypassed this by adding a unique number (as described in the "Searchabl=
e
Job Board" How-To) to the string I want to do seaching on.
Again my question is: Is this behaviour *normal*. Should a do something
basically different or is this a bug in the ZCatalog in Zope 2.3.2
