[Zope] dictionary attributes not persistent?

Hi,

is it possible that dictionary-type attributes are by default
non-persistent?

We are working on a Python product featuring a 'Component' class; each
'Component' features a dictionary attribute holding edited/published an=
d
multilanguage content, and possibly containing further components. The
content of the dictionary seems to get lost after very short time.
