That sounds like the usual "Zope tried to write something to the tty
it started from, which has since been closed" problem. Assuming you're
on some Unix variety, try stopping Zope, starting it in a terminal or
window that you *won't* close anytime soon, and see if it prints
anything while it's running.
If it does, see if there's a -D flag in your startup options that can
be removed, or check into the nohup command to redirect its output
into a file.
