	My mistake. I thought that Jo was suggesting to use the file name in 
addtion to the path, i.e.:

./configure --with-zlib=/usr/lib 
--with-jpeg=/usr/local/lib/libjpeg.so.62

Either way, with the file name or just the path, I get the same error.
