I've read reports of a few problems with 2.2.2, but many people have
reported success.  RH9's 'python' package is 2.2.2.  The 'python2.1' RPMs
for version 2.1.3 (available at python.org) install and coexist well with
Red Hat's package.  That's what I'm running.
