That probably does work. However, on my Debian, I can't even run the Zope
setup on a source code distribution, because for some reason, the Debian
binary distribution of Python does not include distutils! Why? I don't know.
Can I fix it? Maybe, but I don't know how. Compiling python from the source
is trivial and works, so that's what I end up doing anyway.
