Offhand, it looks like PostgreSQL is dying when ZODB tries to commit it. The log's location is system dependent -- on mine, it is at /var/log/postgresql.

that's the problem. it's not there. also tried looking elsewhere, not there. i'm running RH6.2 also, what wou;d normally crash postgres? bad data? hugh data?
