I cared very much about WebDAV in the past and in fact it seems that
Zopes WebDAV implementation is very much compliant with most clients.
I have not heard any complaints about using Zope with Golive,
Dreamweaver or cadaver. Also Zope pass the "litmus" WebDAV
compatibility suite with 13 passed tests out of 14 (the one failing
can be fixed easily). The major pain in the a** with Zope and WebDAV
are all M$ products. Maybe you can remember but I said a significant
amout of time at ZC in debugging and tracing WebDAV issues with
M$ clients. Also several people of the community contribued or tried
to contribute to make Zope more compatible with M$. We tried this
by reengineering the WebDAV protocol between webfolders and the M$
portal server (or team server...can't remember). There were several issues
where M$ application were *not* compliant with the specs. I have also been
in contact with a WebDAV guy from Microsoft support but he laughed at me
when I told him about the WebDAV spec violations. Anyway.....we were not
able to find out how to make Zope more compatible with M$ applications.
There was also a very odd experience we made: the behavior of M$
applications
changed from version to version.

I volunteer to continue supporting WebDAV for Zope 2 in the future.
