passing REQUEST.form to frames

What is the correct syntax for passing form data to child frames of a frameset ? I would like to pass form fields that is submitted to frameset to child frames. Is there any alternative built-in syntax to using an ugly construct like this : =& ------------------ Hannu

- RESPONSE.headers Help needed

I'm using the following: RESPONSE.headers['Content-Type'] = "text/csv" RESPONSE.headers['Content-Disposition'] = "inline; \ filename=salesdat.csv" RESPONSE.flush() in an attempt to get the browser to prompt the user to save the file to disk instead of displaying it in the browser. Problem is, the browser always displays the file. I've checked that the expected headers are coming through with a sniffer, and they are. I expect I'm not producing the headers right, or what I want to do isn't possible. Any ideas? TIA Bill Scherer Bell Atlantic Mobile PS. this is not Zope'd yet, it's vanilla Bobo.

To try and figure out why everyone was having problems with 1.3.3, I upgraded our web server. Everything went fine. www.zope.org is being served by 1.3.3. I didn't have to change the conf file at all. Even better, lots of problems with shutdown disappeared, I'm now able to kill with the USR1 signal, etc. BUT, I compiled it in statically. At some point the Zope community has to say, "That's an Apache problem, ask them what's wrong." I _kind of_ felt like demonstrating a working system with 1.3.0 provided that kind of claim, but since people were using 1.3.3, it was a weak claim. However, if 1.3.3 is known to work when mod_rewrite is statically compiled in, then that's a strong claim. Can you tell us if it works using a statically-compiled mod_rewrite? --Paul

Instead of picking the ODBC connection from the select list, type in a connection string in the box below it. Connection string sytax is pretty baroque. As long as we keep improving it and applying more time in that direction, I expect it to provide the foothold people need to get started. Now to your point, I think you're on to something with "recorded" tutorials, though I don't like the videotape part. I've long used Lotus ScreenCam as a backup for making presentations. It allows me to "record" a screen session with all the screen events, as well as adding audio narration and captioning. Unfortunately the files it produces are gargantuan unless you take painful (read: unacceptable) measures to reduce it. An alternative is to buy Lotus StreamCam which streams the presentation, rather than downloading a huge (e.g. 20 Mb) file. I don't mind the plunking down the money, but ScreenCam is a finicky product. It can get the audio and video out of sync, it is a Windows-only solution, it talks directly to the display (in some cases installing its own video driver), doesn't support all video cards, etc. Thus I'd like to see if anyone here has alternative experience. I'd like something that: o Allowed me to record screen events with synchronized audio narration o Recordings are streamed in a bandwidth-friendly fashion o Players are available *at least* for Windows and Linux --Paul

Just simple question. Should I compile in mod_rewrite statically? On RedHat 5.2, I have httpd(apache) which configured to load dynamically rewrite_module. It fails to deliver authent header to Zope, always, even with the directives in WEBSERVER.txt in Zap doc directory. With "RewriteLog 9" directive, apache says it 'pass'es to Zope. It just seems OK for this unitniated httpd user. Yes, Zap works fine. BUT I do not want to use it. My(rather our) site goes through frequent "httpd restart", and having two (diffently configured )httpd's causes problem. So, I want the source of rewrite problem. Did I do something wrong or mod_rewrite must be compiled in staticall? Thanks, Kwan Soo.

Well I thought I could be clever and use ModRewrite in Apache to do virtual servers within Zope. - [Zope] in mailing list headers

Howdy All, Anybody have an opinion on the necessity of continuing to have [Zope] in the subject header? Originally in the switch from Bobo-list to Zope-list and duplication of messages it served a good purpose. The Bobo-list didn't and doesn't have an equivalent [Bobo] prefix. Most people have migrated to the Zope and the Bobo list is greatly reduced. I have seen messages such as: RE: [Zope] - RE: [Zope] -... "[Zope] - " minimally consumes 9 characters. Add a "re: " and your upto 13. This has caused some subjects to be cut. Is it still desired? I know this isn't any over-my-head-technical-subject but, any opinions? Jimmie Houchin
