Why do you want to recode into DTML? I think that is piece of good code and much faster than DTML. read-only-database

[buildout] bootstrap and develop

Hello, I'm using the infrae.subversion recipe to collect various Products and packages from our subversion. The main goal here is, to not use svn:externals. But the buildout directive "develop=src/..." seems to have the requirement, that the packages are already present if bootstrap.py is called. So it is not possible to place packages there with buildout and get them picked up. 1. Is this correct? I searched and found others have the same problem. 2. What would be alternatives or how can this be changed? Thanks for answers and hints, __Janko Hauser

I'm doing my first zeo setup, and suddenly I'm not sure about my products directory. Cant access 'real' root folder in ZMI

Hi, I recently installed plone 3 on a RHEL 5 server and did some mucking around to get apache working with it. I mostly followed the 'apache-with-plone' tutotial on plone.org to do this. The way it is currently set is as follows: - Plone and zope installed on my server ( eg serverA or 10.10.10.1) running on port 8080 - DNS set to point www.me.com to serverA - Apache set to ProxyPass requests from "me.com:80" to "localhost:8080" (I followed the turtorial mentioned above) - My Plone site accessable from either serverA:8080 or www.me.com However, both these methods lead me straight to the plone website, not to the "Zope Quick Start" page and while i can access the ZMI from plone, serverA:8080/manage or www.me.com/managae, the root folder shown there is the plone site's root folder. Even when i stop apache and access through servera:8080 i still get the plone site. I need access to the 'real' root folder, ie the one with "Control_panel", to set some user roles and permissions, but i cant find a way. I think i must have changed a setting while trying to get apache going, but cant remember what I did and I cant seem to find anything solving this problem on the internet. Can anyone point me in the right direction to solve this problem. Thanks Heaps, Fergus

problem authenticating, even with emergency user

Hello A Zope site which is running fine, is refusing all authentication with the error below. I have tried the emergency user and restarted Zope, but the emergency user gets the same error: Site Error An error was encountered while publishing this resource. Can <instance>/log/Z2.log be deleted? On restart is fresh file created? Also, is max-bytes supported for logfiles in zope.conf? Thanks, Tom

ZMI in zope 2.10.5 broken

Hi everyone, I'm new to Zope and have just installed Zope2.10.5. I have created a new Zope instance in my home folder and then browsed to my servers ip address at port 8080 and logged into the ZMI. This is the problem, the top and main frames of the ZMI render perfectly and I can navigate to the links in the main window, however, the tree menu in the left frame does not load. Instead I get this error: Error Type: NameError Error Value: global name 'util' is not defined I have had a look through the mailing lists and googled for hhours and have found no indication as to what could be causing this. The only clue I have is that when I click on the 'help' link in the main frame the left frame of the window fails to render, even though it is a completely different url. I have tried this in both Mozilla and IE and on several different computers, one on XP and one on Vista. Some information about my setup: I am running an ubuntu 7.10 server, installed both Zope installations from the .tgz files on Zope.org. Python version 2.4.4 please tell me what extra information I can provide, I have zero experience with Zope and am finding it pretty tough to learn, so I know nothing about standard log files or debugging.
