ZSyncer 1.0.0 Released!

Hi All, I'm relieved(!) to announce the release of ZSyncer 1.0.0. This is the first release I've made and I hope no-one is upset about the work I've done (Paul Winkler, you still around?). After this I read http://docs.zope.org/zope.browserresource/index.html http://bluebream.zope.org/doc/1.0/manual/browserresource.html http://docs.zope.org/zope2/zope2book/BasicObject.html#content-objects-folde… http://blog.deconcept.com/swfobject/ I asked this question on eduCommons forum also http://educommons.2416974.n2.nabble.com/bringing-uploaded-javascript-within… but I have not been able to bring it inside the eduCommons forum. Any suggestions as what more should I look for? I am new to eduCommons/Zope/Plone.

commit problems psycopg

We have had a problem with postgresql 8.3 on a Windows server 2008. I wonder whether there has been any other experiences like this. We have connected to Potsgres from Zope via a Psycopg adapter and noticed that sometimes when data is inserted via a form in Zope, the data is available in Zope but doesn't get committed to the database. This has come to a head over the weekend where at least one month's worth of data has disappeared and this includes changes to the actual database structure - luckily only on a testing machine, but concerning nevertheless. The data seemed to disappear after we upgraded to the most recent version of Zpsycopg2 database adapter, previously we were using version 1 (I know it's old, we are only testing after all) and have never had these sorts of problem before. It's almost as if all the data and changes to the db were held in memory, and Postgres continued to work fine from there, but when the db adapter was changed and Zope restarted everything was cleared from memory. Has anyone had similar experiences or can anyone cast any light on where the problem may lie. To us it seems the db adapter is the most likely candidate but we can't understand how this could happen, explanations also welcome. Have posted this to psycopg list too. Thanks

Storing DTML in SQL

I am currently working on a project where I am storing HTML within a MySQL database to display dynamic pages and content in sequences. I would like to be able to store DTML within the tables as well and be able to call them within the page to display that content. I tried mixing the DTML in with the HTML and it shows the HTML correctly but no DTML. Is it possible to even do this? Are there other suggestions on how to go about this?

adding swfobject in zope2

I am using a Content Management System known as eduCommons. As per suggestions on this list I want to embed swfobject in it. I googled Zope2 documents since eduCommons is based on Zope2. Following results http://www.google.co.in/search?hl=en&q=adding+swfobject+to+zope2&aq=f&aqi=&… did not gave me any link to the documentation. Please give some link on Zope2 documentation page as how can I add an swfobject in header section of eduCommons html pages. I had asked this question on their forum http://educommons.2416974.n2.nabble.com/how-to-integrate-swfobject-in-Zope-… but there was no response regarding this. Zope 2 Instance 1.0 Released!

Hi All, I'm proud to announce the first release of Zope 2 Instance. This package provides a buildout recipe for creating a Zope 2 instance based around a deployment. The deployment concept originates from zc.recipe.deployment and allows the deployment to control where resources of a particular type are created. While zc.recipe.deployment is suited to production use, you will likely find that gocept.recipe.deploymentsandbox is more useful for development. This recipe is only compatible with Zope 2.12+. The content of the variable is "B006". The aim is to process this variable so the result will be "B007" and it will then be saved as part of a new record in the database. The core process is to increment the integer part of the variable "006" with 1. I have successfully done this incrementation but I have not been able to create a new correct content for the new varable new_xyz. <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('signumfix2',signum2[1:4])"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('signumfix2', _.int(signumfix2)+1)"> How can I from here create the correct content of the new variable? I need to bring the "B" part with me and then the incremented integer part formatted with two preceeding zeroes. Does anyone know?
