Can not search the chinese word in ZCtalog using TextIndex

Great How-To on using ZSQL methods from an External method

I attempted to send the following directly to the author of the subject How-To, but the mail bounced, so I thought I might post it here, just in case he might see it... I just wanted to thank you for posting your How-To on accessing a ZSQL Method from an External Method. I had just gotten to the point in my project where I needed to do just that, and was scratching my head wondering how to do it. I finally decided to take a look through the Zope site How-To's and ran across yours. It was exactly the information I was looking for, and very clearly written. Thank you very much! I'm sure it has saved me hours and hours of frustration poring through the Zope docs trying to figure it out. I'm still fairly new to Python, but the only part of your How-To that, IMHO, might be written a little more simply is the code fragment in the "What is res?" section: fields2index={} fieldnames=res._schema.items() for i in range(len(fieldnames)): fields2index[fieldnames[i][0]]=fieldnames[i][1] which might read more clearly as: fields2index = {} for name, index in res._schema.items(): fields2index[ name ] = index Just a suggestion. ZCatalog getpath returns url_quoted path - but why?

Zcatalog's getpath function returns the url in url_quoted form - e.g. /link%27s instead of /link's. Is there anyway to shut this off? I need it the way it's supposed to be, and I don't have any easy way of unurl_quoting a string.

Need doc pointers

Hello all, Two simple questions. Advice or pointers to relevant documentation is, as always, much appreciated. 1. How do I turn my exsiting zclass instances into html? Ideally, I'd like to create a method that renders the class instance when refered to. 2. I'm doing my zope with apache. Why do things get added to the path on my management screen like: "dissdb / dissertations / / dissertations / / dissertations / / dissertations / / dissertations / / Law / index_html" It's kinda annoying. Hi, Just a little question: Yesterday, I was working with ZClasses. While making one of my own, I saw that Zope asked for a value to enter per property. Why does Zope asks for a value to enter for a new property when you're making a class? I understand that you've to enter a value when you're making a Class instance? But while defining a class??? Is this meant as a default value?? This is particulary strange when working with a propery as date. What to do, if you don't want to give a default value? Zope always complains that you have to give a value. Please, help to clear my mind Tom.

Why are Document and Folder properties different?

I have three (related) questions here. Any help greatly appreciated: Question 1: What is the difference between DTML Document properties and Folder properties? If I use this code: <dtml-in "objectIds(SPAM)"> <dtml-with "_[_['sequence-item']]"> <p><dtml-var title></p> </dtml-with "_[_['sequence-item']]"> </dtml-in "objectIds(SPAM)"> where SPAM=='Folder', I get the titles of all the subFolders in the current folder. When SPAM=='DTML Document', I get the title of the current folder, repeated by the number of Documents. Why does this happen? Question 2: How can I step through the Documents in a folder and access their properties (like I am trying to do above)? Question 3: How can I sort my output from the Folders/Documents by their properties?
