Hi ! I want to add a link to a dtml page that lets the user authenticate with name and password without setting any permissions in the security tab. Any suggestions? Ciao, Alex

OK. Reinstalled IE5. Now it gets as far as changing to the file browser menu, but then says 'an unexpected error has occurred' before showing any data. Nothing in the event log. Zope on top of roxenB

Hi, I'm evaluating zope and would like to know, whether zope runs on top of the roxen webserver (any experience report wanted) or if there are any plans to make it run there. If this should not be possible right now, I'd be interesting to port it to roxen as long as this jobs is not to time-consuming (...) Please sketch out shortly, what would I have to do. Yes, did that (though I wasn't sure about the http: prefix as it seemed to accept both). The login prompt comes up for secure pages but then IE 5 throws an insufficent memory exception: The application, exe\iexplore.dbg, generated an application error ... Try File:Open (or CTRL-O), and type in the address of your Zope server (don't forget to type http:// first if you have the server on a port other then 80), and check the 'Open as Web Folder' box. Uploading files is broken, because of a change in the FieldStorage class in python 1.5.2. Sounds good! No luck with IE 5 though, is there a special incantation to get it to see the folders? problems sorting with in-tag

DTML Document Properties strangeness

Hi there, I've posted about this before but didn't get a satisfactory answer yet. I'm using an external method with a DTML Document, and inside that external method I want to look at the properties of the DTML Document. I keep having problems with it so I reduced the problem to the following. I have this external method: def getPropertyIds(self): return self.propertyIds() Inside a DTML Document I have this:  <p></p> <p></p>  I would expect these two to give the same list of property ids, but instead the external method returns the list of properties in the *folder*, not in the document (like  does). Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug? A related question: is there a way to check if a property id (acquired from the folder *or* defined locally in the DTML Document) exists or not (and get at its contents), from within an external method? hasProperty is not working well either... Zope on Mac OS X Server

hi...i'm new to this list. just trying to give Zope and shot and see if it'll work for me. For context, I'm coming from years of Frontier use on the Mac. i was wondering if anyone's gotten Zope running on Mac OS X server (theoretically, BSD 4.4 compliant). i already had built Python 1.5.2 and have been using it w/o incident. i downloaded the Zope 1.10.2 sources, and tried a build--which got pretty far along, but then failed on a number of counts and never created the config and launching files (the best i could tell). i did this real quick the other day, and didn't jot down notes on the problems--I just thought i'd drop a line before i dug too much and see if anyone's already been down this road....any pointers? ideas? if not--i'll get back w/ more details on the problems I'm having. thanks, Greg Pierce greg(a)turtleprod.com http://www.turtleprod.com/greg/ ---Slow and Steady Wins the Race---

But I was on the right way... I did another brute-force 'nm' on all libraries and found out that the SUNWspro compiler seems to use a different math library, libsunmath.a. Since I was compiling with gcc, the library wasn't used at all. Now I added -L/applic/opt/V3_N2/SUNWspro/SC3.0.1/lib -lsunmath to the Makefile and it works! (Your SUNWspro compiler directory may be in /opt/SUNWspro/lib) I hope this helps other people compiling the stuff. Martin

ODBC and Zserver problems

When I start up Zserver using a batch file, or manually, I am able to make my ODBC connections, and see my ODBC datasources. However, if I start up Zserver as a NT service (zserver-srvany.zip), although Zope works fine in other apparent respects, it is now unable to see or access ODBC datasources.
