Rio de janeiro, BRASIL Hello Guys, Congratulations for Zope new version 2! I known Zope on this week and I have a beginer problem. Can you help me ?! 1) You don't teach in your guides, how can I initialize a new aplication on Zope. When I run "./start" and point my web browser to "/localhost:8080/manage", I see a kind of guide named "Quick-Start" and I don't get a way to begin to develop a new aplication. a doubt 2) Where Zope put the files which are used in its folder on Hard Disc? thank you for your help. Re:pcgi error message

Jeff and Andreas and others: I am totally inexperienced in python, sockets, etc. However, I can add one data point. I installed Zope 2.0b4 binary on a system without python using apache. The Zope.cgi wouldn't start zope with the error message as reported by Andreas. Zope.cgi was pointing to the Zope bin/python and pcgi/pcgi-wrapper. When I installed python 1.5.2, everything was fine. Running Debian potato GNU/Linux. I don't have a clue, but it might mean something to you.

Your "count = count + 1" line doesn't update the instance. You should be assigning "self.count" instead. Disturbing, inexplicable "broken product" entropy?

Is my database detoriating? All the time now, there is a disturbing trend for objects suddenly to cease to function, and they turn up as "broken". Clicking on the object, I get this: This object is broken because the unknown product that created it is no longer installed or is installed incorrectly. Please contact your product vendor for assistance. Note that the data associated with this product has not been lost, and will be accessible again if the product is reinstalled. Except we're not talking about product class instances at all -- these objects are DTML Methods, images, folders! Just now a folder that worked fine yesterday was no longer available. Augh! I suspect I'm suffering from spurious data loss, but why, and how to fix it? This is Zope 2.0.0b1; I'm upgrading to b5 right now. Unchanging Z Class Instance

I have a Z Class instance that I am accessing by:  <dtml-with WebSolveAccess> <dtml-call "Count(this(), REMOTE_ADDR, count, excludedIPlist, REQUEST)">  </dtml-with>  The Count routine is: def Count(self, REMOTE_ADDR, count, excludedIPlist, REQUEST): if CheckAddress(excludedIPlist, REMOTE_ADDR) == 0: count = count + 1 REQUEST=REQUEST.set('count', count) self.propertysheets.Properties.manage_changeProperties(REQUEST) return The variable count is not being updated in the Z Class Instance WebSolveAccess. Is it because of mis-done syntax? I haven't found anything on the documents on accessing your Z Class once you've created it. Can anyone direct me where to look for this information or tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks! Donner
