passing REQUEST.form to frames

What is the correct syntax for passing form data to child frames of a frameset ? I would like to pass form fields that is submitted to frameset to child frames. Is there any alternative built-in syntax to using an ugly construct like this : =& ------------------ Hannu

Problem using EMACS FTP to Zope

I have a couple of (I hope) simple problems using (Win32) EMACS ange-ftp support with Zope: 1) I want to use the '(setq efs-make-backup-files nil)' trick that's been mentioned previously, but being a total EMACS neophyte, I'm not sure what directory to put the '.emacs' file in. Can someone loan me a clue? 2) If I use ange-ftp to access a Zope folder, I get a nice 'dired' listing. But when I select a DTML document/method to edit, I get another 'dired' listing containing just the selected file. If I select the file again from the new 'dired' list, I finally get the document I wanted, but the name is listed twice in the path: once as a directory, and again as the filename. Needless to say, this prevents me from saving the file (even if I chop off the extra filename, I still get errors saving the file). Anyone have any idea why this might be happening? Experimental searchable mail list archive

Greetings, I finally got sick of paging through endless archive messages, so I implimented an expirimental searchable list archive: http://www.zope.org:12080/archives/Catalog/S will present you with a single text search box. This is a very trivial interface, it will be expanded upon. Please try and use this over the next few days and see if it help answer your questions. I used the fsimport script to import the entirety of the pipermail archive, and then cataloged it with the 'Find objects' Catalog tab. In the process, I fixed a silly design flaw that improved the mass indexing speed of catalog by at least 200% and greatly reduced the memory overhead and thrashing. The dataset of documents is 56MB, the total dataset plus indexes is 64MB. Not bad. It took 6 minutes to index the entire dataset with a 10000 word subtransaction threshold and the process footprint grew to 85MB. Catalog has come a long way in terms of speed and memory usage. Further improvements are to parse the documents into rfc822 Messages (probably with a ZClass), index all interesting attributes (date, author, etc), and impliment a simple ZPublisher.Client script that mailman calls to 'push' a message up to the server, instanciate a new message object, and incrimentaly index it in the Catalog. Hi Jim - I got it working now. I didn't have it running as a service, but from a shortcut on the desktop that pointed to the real start.bat. Thinking it was a typical shortcut generated command prompt window I was closing it after seeing it produce it's startup messages. This was apparently closing Zope... I've never seen a window need to stay open like this before so just followed my nose. Something should be added to the install notes about this. Is there a place I could suggest this? We set this machine up strictly to be an SSL front end to Zope. The data we have to access for our project is in Visual FoxPro tables so we had to use a windows machine for the ODBC connectivity with ZODBCA. I rarely access zope on the machine from the machine. If you fail login you are redirected to our public website which is on another machine (which is contolled by the marketing department) Zope is installed in a directory under Program Files (not under Inetpub). Michel and others, I'm sort of confused... I've been mucking around with IMAPAdapter for a while now (against an Exchange 5.5 server), and I can't seem to even get it to run the simple test code distributed in readme.txt. Here's what I've done: created a folder off the root called imaptest created user defined roles in the root folder for IMAPUser and NotMail, giving them all permissions to that folder in the security tab. Within the imaptest folder I gave all permissions to the same roles for that folder. I then added the imapadapter and the index_html (with the sample code) into imaptest . Instead of it working, it denies all access to the directory, whichever username I use. I know IMAP is working because I tried it against a client (Outlook Express) from the same box. THere are no users defined at the root ( in acl_users ). Any help?

Problem with ZODBCDA-3.1.0b2

I can't seem to establish an ODBC connection to any of my ODBC sources. The "Add Z ODBC Database Connection" page seems to come up fine, and lists all my odbc sources, but I have no joy when trying to create a connection with the "Connect immediately" button checked. I tried all of the connections, some of which are SQL server and some are Access thingies, but none of them work. I've included the source of the page with the error message. Any thoughts? Newbie PARENTS question

Hi there, I'm trying to reference the folder above from a DTML method. Basically what I'm looking for is an equivalent to the the  which will give the id of the parent folder. In the DTML reference I found an explanation of the PARENTS attribute with seems to be what I want but I'm getting errors with both:  and  How do I do this? Also, is it possible to nest calls? I.E. How can I make:  --> or similar In other words how can I make a compound call based on path (or other) variables? Thanx in advance. Chris
