Squishdot 0.5.0 is now available from http://www.zope.org/Members/chrisw/Squishdot/ http://www.squishdot.org/Download/Squishdot The following changes were made: - Bruce Perens' batch moderation patch was integrated fully. - The administrator can now be optionally emailed when news articles and/or postings arrive. Some improvements in presentation in the management interface screens were also made. Sadly, because dtml-in and dtml-tree suck so badly, I wasn't able to implement a batched view on the Postings page :( Also, 2.2 support isn't there yet, btu will be arriving in the next release! :-) If you run into problems, remember Squishdot has a mailing list at eGroups and a bug collector on SourceForge. cheers, Chris

I can't be sure because your line number does not seem to correspond with your text explanation, but when I do a search on "return RESPONSE", I get the same section that was not gracefully dealing with non Y2K compliant Explorer browsers in an earlier "bug". This was present in 2.1.6 but has been fixed for 2.2.x. problem using SiteAcces

Hi, I want to host several sites with my Zope and Apache. To do this I followed the instructions created by anser (http://www.zope.org/Members/anser/apache_zserver) Everything seems to work except one thing: the path in the main section of the management screens of Zope. I want to host the site http://www.seugling.nl using apache. I want to add a Zope area at http://www.seugling.nl/z. This is my virtual host configuration of Apache: <VirtualHost 24.132.45.123> ServerName www.seugling.nl DocumentRoot /home/httpd/html/seugling ProxyPass /z http://www.seugling.nl:8080/seugling ProxyPassReverse /z http://www.seugling.nl:8080/seugling ProxyPass /misc_ http://www.seugling.nl:8080/misc_ ProxyPass /p_ http://www.seugling.nl:8080/p_ </VirtualHost> I add a folder in the root of my Zope called 'seugling'. I want this to be the root folder of http://www.seugling.nl/z. So I add a SiteRoot object in to it with the following configuration: Title (empty) Base http://www.seugling.nl/z Path / When I add a folder into the root folder at this site: seugling/test, and I click at 'seugling' in the folder path in the main section of the management screen (Folder at /seugling / test) the server want to go to the url: http://www.seugling.nl/seugling/manage_workspace... which doesn't excist. ZPatterns 0.4.1snap1 + LoginManager 0.8.7a1 + Zope 2.1.6 + Win2000

Hello I have installed ZPaterns 0.4.1snap1 with a Dynpersist.pyd (compiled for Win32) I found on zope.org. And then installed the LoginManager. However, LoginManager appears broken when looking at the installed Products. It shows the traceback below. The problems seems to be in Zpatterns. Has anybody ever installed ZPatterns successfully on Win32 ? Which versions ? Any ideas or solutions ?! Changing a Z object's __class__ dynamically

Hi, One powerful feature of Python is the ease of reloading modules. This makes debugging extremely nice, since you can modify the code, reload the module, and all this while the main program is still running. Moreover, if a particular instance object has been created, you can actually edit the object's class code, reload the module, and change the class of the object to the modified class. Something like: my_module = sys.modules['module_name'] reload(my_module) my_new_class = my_module.my_class my_instance.__class__ = my_new_class This works all very nicely in pure Python. But not in Zope. When the object is a Zope object, somehow the last statement does not seem to do anything. That is, the object's class is not updated. I don't know what exactly is going on. My conjectures are: (1) Digicool people have re-written Python's system function setattr(), so that when it is an Z Object, the __class__ cannot be changed. (2) Caching: when I change the class of a Z Object, somehow it does not reflected in the Z Object's memory-cached version. At any rate, this is really surprising. Since usually when you do: x = 3 print x you would expect the result to be 3. But with a Z object's __class__, you can assign it to something, and then nothing happens. That is: x.__class__ = new_class print x.__class__ and it will print the old class, not the new class. Does anyone know what I can do to change the class of a Z object dynamically? This will make the development of Zope products a lot easier. Zope on AlphaStationNT...

I am a total Zope newbie. I am trying to run Zope on a AlphaStation running NT. I get a "service specific error 1" when I try to start Zope. I am using a utility called FX!32 which lets me run Win32 programs on my Alpha. "Compaq FX!32 (TM) lets you install and run 32 bit, x86 programs on your Windows NT Alpha system." Does anyone have any info that might help? Please reply to jrhoepn(a)tvsw.org as I am not subscribed to the list yet. Thanks! jrh

Yihaw "Properties" creates error

I think, it is acceptable from a user point of view. I am not sure, whether they behave well, because all trees share a single cookie value, tree-s, to maintain there state. At least some operations on one treem, e.g. "collapse_all", may have adverse effects on the state of other trees. However, maybe, you are lucky.
