Hi, I´ve got it running. ZMYSQLDA could not find the libraries from mysqldb. Yes, you´re right, it was a FAQ. BTW: Is there any product that acts as acl_users which allows to collect more information from my users, like company name, adress ... ? file upload and MySQL

Sorry for the malformed subject header on the last post, corrected now. Previous post: Hi all. I'm sorry if this is discussed before, but my search thru the archive did not yield any results. Basically, this is what I want: 1. I have a file that I want to upload. That I know how to do. 2. Then I want to use the properties of the file I uploaded (id, size, name and so forth) to make an entry in an external database (MySQL it is, but that is not relevant). 3. Update another entry in the external database, using the beforementioned properties. So, what I do not know, is how I "extract" the information from the file upload, and make it available to my sqlMethod. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? ZMYSQLDA

Hi, I installed ZmySQLDA and that mysqldb extension. HDs are so cheap today, Er, this is fine if you're building a new box (and if you're using simple IDE drives) but rather less so if you've exceeded the capacity on an existing system and/or you're using SCSI drives. Yes capacity is cheap, but /adding/ capacity is rather less so - if there's space you can drop in another drive (which may in turn give you heat problems) but you've still got to manage allocation of storage to the new drive. If there isn't space then you're talking about adding in another box (rather less cheap) or transferring the data from old to new - slow and the accountants won't be happy about writing off the old one. In addition you have to worry about the cost of the time taken to perform any of the above. Not as funny as it might seem )-: Murph

Sending attachments

Hi, I've written a form whose contents are emailed with <dtml-sendmail>. It works great, but I want to include a field in the form to select a file which should be included as an attachment in the email. I've used <dtml-mime> and <dtml-boundary> as explained in the manual but it does not work. The resulting email has the *name of the file* as the attachment instead of the file itself! Anyone can help? Thanks Enric

PTK/LoginManager/Membership - configuring User Sources

I am currently (one of many probably) inching along towards getting PTK/LoginManager/Membership working and wondered if somebody could point me in the right direction to get the pieces working together. I have installed the PTK, made a portal. I then replaced the acl_users in the portal directory with a loginmanager. Then I added a Portal Membership System, which seemed to replace a bunch of methods and added a bunch of new ones. Looking at my portal [http://entity.ummu.umich.edu:8080/portal] I now get the nice login dialog when I login but it doesn't work. I figure I most likely need to install a usersource. >From this howto [http://www.zope.org/Members/jok/SQL_based_LoginManager] I stole some methods that seem to be the sort of thing I would need to link the login process to a database (in my case a MySQL user table). I put them, as listed below, into my persistant user source. But I am not sure how to link these new methods in my usersource back to my login form. Here is the list of contents from my usersource : MySQL_database_connection (Z MySQL Database Connection) SQL_change_password SQL_check_user SQL_get_password SQL_get_roles userAuthenticate userExists userRoles I have no idea whether these are the correct method names that the loginmanager is looking for to authenticate. Does anyone have any pointers on this ? Also I now have 2 login forms - one in the root of the portal folder and the other in the acl_users folder. Which is the one that I need to edit ? I say edit because I see this line in both of them : <form action="<dtml-var SCRIPT_NAME><dtml-var PATH_INFO><dtml-if QUERY_STRING I'm thinking of how to link my login form to my user source - am I supposed to replace SCRIPT_NAME with userAuthenticate ? thanks for any help you can offer me. Bizarre bug - "floating" ZClasses

I finally went to upgrade our production machine (the one which runs cosmetica.com.br and hackandroll.org) to Zope 2.2. When I did (and after upgrading SiteAccess and updating its objects with the provided script), BannerFolders and BannerAds stopped working. So, I went to the Control Panel and deleted the product, to install the newer version. Before that, Zope was restarted, and suddenly the Banner objects started functioning normally - with their Product missing! On top of that, I tried to install the Product and it gives me a "Duplicate Class Ids" error... string to list?

Hello, I have a Z SQL method which returns me a string like {{"a"},{"b"},{"c"}} Is there anyway I can write a dtml-in loop to pick out each element from the string? I want to be able to do something like: <dtml-in my_zsql_method_which_returns_a_string> <dtml-var element>, </dtml-in> and that should give me "a,b,c". Is this possible? Or do I need to write an external python method to return a list["a", "b", "c"] given the string above? Thanks! nitesh
