Hello all, I'm tring to execute this script: lista = [] folder = container.indice2() #indice2 is a ZCatalog for file in folder: if not file.hasProperty('codice'): lista.append(file.id) attributes=getattr(folder, file) attributes.manage_addProperty('codice', 'inserted yet', 'string') return lista I borrowed the idea from the /Examples/GuestBook/addEntry script Zope prompts me for a user name and passwd, I type my usual account data (I'm the only user and I think I have full privileges) and BAM! Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Error Type: Unauthorized Error Value: You are not allowed to access in this context Troubleshooting Suggestions * The URL may be incorrect. * The parameters passed to this resource may be incorrect. * A resource that this resource relies on may be encountering an error. I tried to give the script all the proxy roles I could I opened Control Panel/acl_users and gave manage property permission to managers and owners (I'm a manager user): NOTHING! Using FTP to connect to Zope server from (g)VIM

Hi all, My intellect was piqued recently by a discussion on the list about editors for Zope etc. I remember some people saynig that VIM was good, to which my response was, 'Yeah but there's no FTP built in'. Someone then responded with a few scripts to do it. Well I thought they were a bit cumbersome, so I wrote my own. ftpopen.py and ftpsave.py. If you have a VIM executable with Python support built in then these run from within VIM and allow you to open/save file from/to Zope seamlessly. (I have them on a menu in GVIM for instance) I'll put the files up on my Zope Members bit (http://www.zope.org/Members/philh) along with a few instructions. If anybody can think of any enhancements then please let me know and I'll see if I can work them in. I hope these will be useful to someone. See ya Phil phil.harris(a)zope.co.uk

ZCatalog: AttributeError: 'None' object has no attribute 'load'

Hi again .. I've been getting these for a long time. A retry succeeds, but it's ugly if it happens to a client. It also happens pretty often (say eg. every 20th time I upload something to Zope). I have packed the database, but that didn't help. NT Service doesn't respond on stop request

I have Zope 2.4.2 running as service on Windows 2000. The service starts okay, but when I stop it from the Management Console, the service stops and then about a minute later I get the message "Could not stop the Zope (WebSite) service on Local Computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion." If I enter the "NET STOP WebSite" command from a command window, the service stops and the command completes without any error messages in about 20 seconds. Any idea why I'm getting the error message when stopping the service from the Management Console? Thanks Mark Snellings

Persistent DynPersist

Hi; Okay, I exported everything out of my old Zope Data.fs, completely rebuilt Zope and imported everything back into Data.fs. Now, I have this amazing problem. Seems that Zope can't import EMarket because there's no module named DynPersist. But it *does* import ZPatterns (a la TransactionAgents), er, rather, it imports ZPatterns as_long_as EMarkets is in the mix. If I remove the EMarkets module from Products lo and behold ZPatterns can no longer be imported and breaks! It just gets weirder and weirder. Here's a couple of tracebacks. Gosh, I hope this problem dies soon. It's very strange that one machine with IE5.0 works and one doesn't. Anyone else heard of something like this? As for the sluggishness, IE just gets fatter every time they rev it. But, so does Netscape for that matter. You probably need more RAM. Why my zope ask me login twice ?

Dear friends on this list, This question probably had been anwsered. But I just search the archie. I add a Ldaplogin Adapter on a folder under my root folder. Then I try to use the ldap to check the user login. When I login the the subfolder. The Zope ask me the password the check with ldap server then ask me again the password again to match the acl_users under root folder. I have no idea. Thanks a lot, Have a nice day Terry

While most of the problem was in the way that Python Script objects were being compiled, note that there is also a known issue in Python 2.1 itself that can cause a segfault in certain situations. As a result, binary releases of 2.5 beta 3 bundle the latest Python 2.1 maintenance fixes from CVS. The Zope 2.5.0 final release is expected to bundle the Python 2.1.2 final release, expected soon. If you are compiling your own Zope from the source distribution, you should be sure to build and run it with Python 2.1.2 when it comes out. In the meantime, we advise that you build and run Zope with the Python 2.1 maintenance branch from the Python public CVS to ensure that you have all of the latest fixes. Forms methods and IE 5.5

Hi, I have tried to use several buttons in the same <FORM>, with the following syntax : <form action="" method="POST"> ... <input type="submit" name="append_item:method" value="Add Item"> <input type="submit" name="index_html:method" value="Show list"></td> </form> This works fine with Konqueror and Netscape, but not with Opera or IE 5.5 : with these browsers, it's the current URL which is called when the second button is clicked. Does anybody knows where this problem comes from ? Is this a standard HTML feature which is not well supported by these browsers ? Is there any way to get this working correctly ???
