External Editor Glitch with Galeon Only

So, I'm running FreeBSD 4.7, connecting to the management interface of a Zope server through the Galeon 1.2.6, Mozilla 1.1, and Opera 6.1 browsers. I've installed the External Editor script on my system, and have no trouble clicking the External Editor icon next to the file in Zope I wish to edit and have it open in gvim. However, *every* time I try this in Galeon, I also get an error dialog as the file is opened: "FATAL ERROR: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/tmp/<name_of_file>'" This does not affect my ability to edit and save changes to the file, but it happens Each And Every Time. Very annoying, especially since it DOESN'T happen with Mozilla or Opera. (I should also add that until this week I was using the exact same browsers on Red Hat 8.0, and never got this error message with any of them; not even Galeon.) Does anybody know what the heck is happening here? I would like this annoyance to go away, as Galeon is my favorite browser by a mile. --Damon

How does one get the metatypes set properly for objects imported using FTP? How do I inform Zope that a file is a SQL-method, dtml-method, dtml-document, or whatever? A quick google of the archives did not turn up anything...

[ZSyncer] Dest.host in LAN, howto address?

Hi Zopies, I want to download resp. sychronize my zwiki from an real internet server at my friend's company. I started with ZSyncer because i think it's good for all other synchronizing tasks too. It works easy and without probs at home ie. between notebook and my home box. Now i have to solve a new challenge i've never heard anything about: How can i address my home box(var.IP) from the internet server(fix.IP)? First: I think i need to define the dest.URL in both ZSyncer instances on both boxes, is this right? So my question is a basic IP-related one, but i decided to ask here on the list, because you know ZSyncer in opposite to most people on linux/ networking lists. - Ah yes: all under Linux, of course :-) My home box is behind another linux box as a gateway, (no firewall), this one dials in by pppd. *What should i enter in the destination field on the ZSyncer at the server???* I have no idea how to approach this prob. Give me a hint, please! Suddenly, I was unable to copy/cut and paste Zope objects through the ZMI. I tried everything and discovered it must have to do with my browser. I am a devoted textarea Zoper, and it is true that Opera is better for this, but... Can anyone point me to an explanation? Please don't kill me, but I would like to go back to using explorer... Thanks! Ken

Howto search multiple fields of ZCatalog

Hi all, I'm trying to create a search in a ZCatalog in wich I can give a single search string, for example "this AND that" that will search in 2 or more combined fields. If both (or more) values are available in the combined text of the fields than there should be a match, for example when "this" is in the title and "that" is in the description the object has to be in the result set. Is there any solution to this problem? Greetings Ralph

Error in uploading.

Hi, I tried uploading a ,mpp file to zope but it throws up an error. Error Type: OverflowError Error Value: long int too large to convert What might be the reason? Please help. Regards, Paul.

Bug in FileDirectoryView with INSTANCE_HOME on win?

Hello Has anybody a solution for to install a FileDirectoryView from CMF on win zope 2.6 with INSTANCE_HOME ? I think there is a bug. The FDV doesn't read the given INSTANCE_HOME path. ZCatalog Field indexes

I swear that this used to work, but I think maybe it has changed accidentally somewhere in 2.4+. Catalog(field1='') (where field1 is a 'Field' type index) should return all catalogged objects which have an empty string for that attribute, and it used to (I think). In current versions, ZCatalog just seems to ignore the parameter altogether and return all catalogged objects. This current implementation doesn't make sense to me...
