Hi Tino, your METAL-TAL model sounds interisting. Can you explain it in more detail so that I can understand it, please (may be with a short example) ? attribute error 'sendall' in sendmail tag

Hi all, I have turned to the list before about this problem, but without success. I thought I had created a workaround, but in the end it appears I cannot do without the sendmail tag. I have upgraded from zope version 2.4.3 to 2.5.1. on a production server. I can't go back so I am really stuck. I agree... I saw a message on this list a few days back where someone mentioned Apache in front of Squid, which totally left me scratching my head in confusion... Squid+ESI should be pretty powerful. Since ZPT will do XML namespaces, ESI should be supported without any issues, if you wanted to do this out of the box (of course, you still would need to patch and compile Squid with the ESI support). One other thing that Apache can't do (without mod_backhand, I think???) is truly load-balance, but Squid can with Zope 2.6+ (thanks to ICP support): Squid treats ZEO nodes as cache peers and removes them if they are down, and also directs traffic according to load (updated constantly as function of response times). Zope crashed when running RDFSummaryUpdate script

I just experienced a strange problem. I'm running Zope 2.44, Python 2.13 and Apache 1.3.22. I was attempting to run my RDFSummaryUpdate script: <dtml-with RDF> <dtml-in "objectValues('RDF Summary')"> <dtml-with sequence-item> <dtml-call "update()"> </dtml-with> </dtml-in> </dtml-with> and it apparently hosed Zope. It appeared to be locked up as it was not responding to anything any longer. I tried stopping and re-starting Zope and it made no difference. I tried stopping and restarting Apache and I got this message: Syntax error on line 260 of /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf: FastCgiIpcDir /tmp: can't create dynamic directory "/tmp/dynamic": access for server (uid -1, gid -1) failed: read not allowed /usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start: httpd could not be started The following first line is line 260 on httpd.conf: FastCgiIpcDir /tmp FastCgiExternalServer /usr/local/apache/htdocs/zope \ -socket zope.soc \ -pass-header Authorization This is apparently the only error, as when i commented this out Apache started fine. Any ideas on how to recover Zope, and could the update script have actually caused this, or was this just some weird timing, coincience thing? Trying to set up zweather

I set it up for Beverly, Ma, KBVY (it displays properly from within manage, but when I put<dtml-weather show=Beverly> in my standard header, I get exactly that text. Its id is simply Beverly.)

Still Chipping Away At Formulator/ZPT Interface

Hi; Okay, I *am* going to write a How-To on this when I get it all figured out with your help. This needs to be done. In DTML, we do this to render the fields: <dtml-in "form.get_fields()"> <dtml-let field=sequence-item> <tr> <td><dtml-var "field.get_value('title')"></td> <td><dtml-var "field.render()"></td> etc. How do I do this same thing in Python? Here's the start of the code: mailhost=getattr(context, context.superValues('Mail Host')[0].id) This much works. Now, I need to be able to call the values of the Formulator form (named *email_us_formulator*). An example of a value is *YourEmail*. How would I access this value with Python? TIA, beno

Pyredir (freshmeat.net/projects/pyredir) could theoretically be hacked to allow for easier ways to setup redirector-based virtual hosting mechanisms, though the rewrite syntax for its pyredir.conf file is actually easier than mod_rewrite's rules. If there is interest, I'll post some examples of redirector rules tomorrow. Form Action question

Hi, I am trying to have one of my forms provide the user the ability to choose what form to select next. I have done something similar to this in a previous form. In the first form I provide a pull down menu to let them select (Report vs. Input forms). I define the menu_type variable and submit the form. The next form, the user is still making some choices so this is where I set the variable globally (<dtml-call "REQUEST.SESSION.set('menu_type', menu_type)"> ). The user is making their final selection in this form and in the form action field I use this statement (action=<dtml-var expr="REQUEST.SESSION['menu_type']">) and this works. The user is in the form they selected and they are happy. I am working on some input forms now. The first form, the user will input a part number. The next form will display the title of the part number and any actions relating to this part number (RMAs, etc). At this point, if the user can continue to identify a problem with this part and fill in the header info (customer, address, etc.). What the user wants is the ability to add line item information about each serial number relating to the part. This is my problem. I can let them add one disposition. I tried the following: I made the <input type="hidden" name="menu_type"> on the first form. The next form the user can fill out the form and the "form action" will call a decision form. Also, I global define this variable <dtml-call "REQUEST.SESSION.set('menu_type', menu_type)"> The form is as follows: <form name="form1" method="post" action=<dtml-var expr="REQUEST.SESSION['menu_type']">> <select name="<dtml-var expr="REQUEST.SESSION['menu_type']"> "> <option value="update_nonc_partb">Add another disposition</option> <option value="update_nonc_partb_info">Save</option> </select> <dtml-var expr="REQUEST.SESSION['menu_type']"> <input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Submit"> </form> I have tried different variation but I will get a keyerror or a global error. Problem with upload object

I don't think that the object that I'm grabbing is a file upload object because I get an AttributeError when I try to access the 'filename' attribute, and when I reference the object name, it return the path of the uploaded file instead of the actual file. My Zope file then contains only a string of text that is the path that the user submitted. There's probably something obvious that I'm not doing, but I've read the documentation, and that hasn't helped. I'm using Ie6, zope is runnning on Solaris8. See below for the code and error.
