Dynamic script loading

Hello, I don't know if my question is more zopish or pythonish. I have a Zope product. I had to add the specific functionality which is needed very rarely. I would be glad to import external module only when it is needed, do the job and free my mind and extra memory it consumed. How should I do that? I have to admit that I don't find myself as an experienced Python programmer. I just discover depths of this incredible language while extending my Zope product. Help with VHM and Apache

I've been trying to get Zope setup with Apache. I continually read that I need to add a VirtualHostMonster in order to accomplish my objective. However, I cannot find where to download this object, and the how-to seem to indicate that this file is included with Zope. Could anyone shed some light on this? Ape 0.7 - prob. installing

I'm no doubt missing something silly, but Ape 0.6 worked and now 0.7 is giving me troubles. Here's the specifics: Zope 2.6.2b4 on RH Linux 9. I have Ape 0.7 and DBTab 1.2 installed. and actually, Zope starts up fine if I remove the DBTab.conf and custom_zodb.py files from my instance root. I am wondering how others have solved this problem. Are people using cookies between the 2 sites (I would like to avoid this) or are people writing this info to a database? Any help would be much appreciated. Tracking upload of files to Zope

Hello, Sorry if I post to a wrong list - if that is the case, please tell me where to post instead. I have one huge problem with Zope: It's impossible to track how far an upload of a file to Zope is :-(( It seems like Zope "blocks" untill a file is uploaded to Zope making it impossible to tell how many bytes has been transfered or similar. Is it me that hasn't got a clue on how the HTTP protocol works or is it a "bad implementation" of file uploads in Zope ? VarImage, Problems with uploaded files.

Good afternoon all, I would like to use the VarImage product as part of a "notice board" project. Different ways data is access demand different sizes for the graphics, and the VarImage product seems to be the right tool for the task...almost. These will be graphics uploaded by the end user via a form, and I've encountered two problems where it seems VarImage ate my Zope server, presumably due to "bad input". 1) A huge JPG (~10MB) was uploaded. The server then died. 2) A bitmap was uploaded instead of a jpg/gif. The server then died. Both scenarios are repeatable, but by no means are my diagnosis skills sophisticated to comment any further on what's going on. So as a preamble to my actual question I'd welcome advice on how to more properly figure out whats going on here. It seems that processing threads are getting sent off into the wild blue yonder and never ever coming back. I figure the only way I can use VarImage for my needs is if I make sure that files are <500k and if they are actually gifs of jpegs. So my *actual* question is: How can I tell if an uploaded file is a gif or a jpg? I know I'll probably need to look at the first 4 bytes for some kind of code, but I don't know what that is (nor exactly how to do it) and am dead certain that someone out there has done this already. md5sums of modules

Hi, I just tried to download several modules for zope. After download I tried to compare their md5sums to those given on the website where I got the modules, but most of them were incorrect. Actually all of them were not the way they are supposed to be as I understand md5sums. According to what I read about md5sums, they are supposed to be 128 keys, but all of the keys I found for the module had a leading zero. OK, after removing this leading zero, some of the modules would verify OK, but again most were still wrong, missing some zeros somewhere. Sometimes 0 zero was missing and sometimes it was up to three zeros missing in the key. Other than that, the keys were identical to the ones I generate here with md5sum. Has anybody else noticed this problem? Below I have given the packages I downloaded, the top one is the key generated on my maschine, the one below is the one from the website. Can anybody tell me,why those zeros are missing in some of the keys and why they all do have a leading zero?
