Why do you want to recode into DTML? I think that is piece of good code and much faster than DTML. Mozilla Hate My zClasses

I have created a 2 zClasses, one that is a CatalogAware File, one that is a CatalogAware Page Template. I recently noticed a most peculiar problem. Mozilla browsers cannot "Save Link As..." any content that is one of these zClasses "The Link Could Not Be Saved. The Web Page Might Have Been Moved or Renamed". Perusing the logs, I'm noticing that Mozilla browsers HEAD the files before they try to download them. Medusa returns 405 - Method Not Allowed for this command on these zClasses. Internet Explorer just skips straight to the GET, which works fine. How can I fix this? I have some idea where a HEAD method would need to go, but I'm not really sure what should be in it. Ed

Zope 2.7 FTP Bandwidth Limiter?

We're experimenting with Zope 2.7, and are currently unable to get FTP transfers to go any faster that 10k/sec. This seems to be some sort of arbitrary limit, as we have plenty of bandwidth and horsepower available. Indeed, we can pretty much make as many FTP sessions as we want simultaneously, they just all go at 10k/sec. Was there some sort of limiter or throttle introduced somewhere along the lines that I am unaware of? --- Edward J. Pollard, B.Sc Webmaster, University of Lethbridge

Opera 7 and ZMI

Is anyone else using Opera 7 with Zope? Have you noticed this dangerous bug? http://my.opera.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=23618 I reported it a year ago on the O7 beta list and they seem to not care enough to fix it. I know it's an Opera bug, but what change, if any, could be made to Zope to rid it of the wrap="off" that triggers this bug without losing the functionality it provides? -- Ron Bickers Logic Etc, Inc.

"Undo changes" strange behaviour of permission propagation

Hi there, This is with Zope 2.62 I want to offer Plones "Quick undo" to a user only in some parts of a site. When I test for the right whether he is allowed to "Undo chages" with the following test that checks what roles are allowed a permission [ s for s in map(lambda x : len(x['selected']) and x['name'], context.rolesOfPermission('Undo changes')) if s] I do not get the inherited roles but only the ones assigned to the folder I perform the test on. If I do the same for "View" I get also the inherited permissions. Should not rolesOfPermission also return the inherited roles ? Robert

Server Spontaneously Quitting

I have a Zope instance running on my OpenBSD machine (Zope 2.6.1 (OpenBSD package zope-2.6.1) , python 2.1.3, openbsd3) and it has been spontaneously quitting on an irregular but fairly frequent basis -- usually a couple of times per week. This is obviously unsatisfactory. Does anyone have suggestions for improving reliability -- either detecting that the server has gone down and restarting it, or (ideally) having it not crap out in the first place? I am not running behind Apache, I am running ZServer directly out. Consequently I start the process as root to bind to port 80 and it switches to the zope user in the start script. Might this be the issue? (I have tried many times to get Apache as the front end server, but apparently I am far too dense to figure it out despite all of the HOWTOs I've read.) TIA, Murray
