How to create a file and send it by e-mail ?

Hello all, I'm developing using ZPT and I need to create a file (CSV format) but I'm having some problems: * 1. *I only know how to create files with python but I get an * Error Type: NameError* * Error Value: global name 'file' is not defined. * I think ZOPE doe's not allow python to create files for security reasons. Can I change this security policy or it will make my application unsafe? Is there another way to create a file using ZOPE API calls ? * 2.*When I create my file how can I send it as an attachment by mail ? (I already have setup my mail host object and I can send mail's successfully.) thanks for your time.. * *

You'll want to build your own MIMEBase object and attach it to the result of rendering your Mail Template if you build your csv in a string. Zope Debugger 0.8.1 Released!

This release adds support for both Zope 2.7 and Zope 2.8. Zope Debugger is an enhanced version of pdb for use with Zope. It can be used simply by inserting the following lines in any python code you'd like to debug, including Script (Python)'s and FSPythonScripts: from Products.zdb import set_trace set_trace() It requires no changes to Zope, CMF or Plone or any funky interaction with any specific kind of editing software. All you really need to do is insert the snippet above and make sure your Zope instance is running in foreground mode. The patching is a bit worse than I expected, it doesn't look like WinDbg makes any attempt to call back to the original version of the method it's patching, which is a bit sad :-( That said, I'd expect zdb not to work when WinDbg is installed, and not the other way round... I'm CC'ing in a support address I found for Wing-IDE in the hope that one of those guys will contact me. I've taken a look at stepper and dug into the zope source again. It looks like both are relying on a startup script akin to zopectl to marshal everything correctly. I would rather not be using a startup script (besides I couldn't sort it out); this is what I have so far: from Zope.Startup import options, handlers opts = options.ZopeOptions() opts.configfile='c:\Zope-Instance-Test\etc\zope-with-zeo.conf' opts.load_schema() opts.load_configfile() unfortunately in the resulting options object, I'm not getting the stuff I need from the conf file, namely the ZODB storage stuff needed for ClientStorage. The schema file that is being used by ZopeOptions is Zope/Startup/zopeschema.xml. This only has a skeleton zodb_db section. It looks like the meat & potatoes are in ZODB/component.xml, but I don't see how that is actually pulled in. Any more ideas? LocalFS problems with @import-ing stylesheets

Hi We've just upgraded to using LocalFS (LocalFS-1-3-andreas for the large file support) with Zope 2.7.2, and have been experiencing problems with accessing stylesheets via the @import command from within a LocalFS folder. eg: <style type="text/css" media="screen">  </style> where /site is the LocalFS folder. The problem only manifests itself using Mozilla browsers (Mozilla, Firefox, etc), and when using these browsers stylesheets are successfully requested (according to the Apache access logs) but are ignored within the page. The stylesheet validates, and works as expected if moved inline within the page, or when created as a Zope File object, rather than within LocalFS. This all worked fine on the previous versions of LocalFS we were using (1.1.0) with Zope 2.6.4. Any ideas if this is a Zope or a LocalFS thing? Yes the client is not loggin in. (and since it will be a commandline script it is not supposed to do). If I hardcode some bogus data to be returned it works fine. But as soon as something in the catalog is searched it does not work. So the xmlrpc works. If I run the script from the browser (with default parameters) logged in as Manager it works. So the functionality works. But really searching for something through xmlrpc does not work. If I copy & paste the code in an (ZODB) Python script which I give the Authenticated proxy role it works perfect.
