hosting two site on one zope server

I'm trying to host two site on one zope server I have two fix IP and I have two network card installed. I changed my zope.conf to include two http server that listen on two different ports. But, I placed my site under different folder and I don't know how to redirect different IP to different folder sites by listening on the same port 80 (can change 8080 t0 80 on linux, don't know what server is already using this) can someone help me? __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? using tal macros in PloneArticle query

Hi all, I am trying to use tal and metal inside of a PloneArticle instance and can not get it to work. Should this not be possible? I am aware that kupu needs to be switched to not strip customg tags on edit and that there are settings which enable or disble content types in the article instance. I did enable the text/python-source type in the PloneArticle settings, but this still seems to not work. Anyone knows what I might be doing wrong? Many Thanks!! I am in the process of upgrading from zope 2.5.1 (yes very old) I used to use the following set up. Prototypically I had the following chain of folders and methods: f1 (folder) f1_index (dtmlmethod) f11 (folder) acl_users (user folder) f111 folder index_html (calling f1_index) I used f1 to place methods and scripts to be acquired by methods in f111. At the level of f1 I defined local roles, disabled the acquisition of the view permission and added that permission on the same level again to existing roles including the local roles except Anonymous. F11 contained a user folder populated with accounts with with local roles defined in f1. The url www.domain.nl/f1/f11/f111 would render the content of f1_index after logging in with an account from acl_users in f11 (basic authentication), that is at least up to zope 2.7.3. At least from 2.7.8. on this very same user is not allowed to access f1_index anymore. I could solve the problem by moving the user folder from f11 to f1, but actually I have also f12, f13, f14, and so on, each with its distinct group of users. The setup described enabled me to remove folders at the second level when they are not needed any more including the whole group of users involved. Furthermore, though the second level folders share a group of methods, some were also specific for specific groups. Another option would be to disable the acquisition of the view permission not on the f1 level, but on the f11 level. However, in that case the url www.domain.nl/f1 would acquire the index_html from the root folder in stead of disallowing access. Apparently I have to change my habits. But how do I come near to my use case? There is nothing that needs to be done here. It's only if you *mutate* values stored in the session that you need to do explicit persistence triggering. Thanks for your reply fm. The python version in my path is 2.3.5 and both python and zope were build from source. Zope is installed in /opt which is where the python 2.3.5 is too. I got rid of the zope instance I had running earlier and created a new instance in my home directory. Now when I run zopectl start from the /bin in the instance in my home directory I get the following error: . Trying zope on Linux

I'm trying zope on linux but I have come a cross a problem. I windows, I simply changed the port number from 8080 to 80 in zope.conf so I could get to my site without typeing the port. But in Linux, I did the same thing but it always tells me that some other server already occupied this port. (and I just started too, so there shouldn't be any server. right??) I'm now trying to figure out what server to close but with no luck at all.. can someone help me so I can display my site on port 80? --------------------------------- Yahoo! user folder question

Currently we run a totally linux infrastructure with ldap authentication which we would also like to tie into zope. If you're talking about "instance" as in installing a Zope $INSTANCE_HOME, then you could "prepare" a ZODB where you have done all that manually and re-use that for every instance you build out. If you run ZEO and they all connect to the same database there is no need - you switch it out once and all instances "see" that. jens
