Data.fs.lock permssions error

Hi i have just installed zope 2.8.6 on fedora core 3 I have created a zope instance however when i go to run this instane i get the following error IOError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/home/default/inst1.isolve-unix.co.uk/user/zope/var/Data.fs.lock' When i go into this folder the var folder Data.fs.lock isnt there If anyone has any ideas it would be a great help thanks -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Data.fs.lock-permssions-error-t1273102.html#a3379687 Sent from the Zope - General forum at Nabble.com.

Problems with .po files

Hi, I am working in a Plone website, developing under windows, but publishing under linux. My problem is that the .po files containing my own translations work under windows, but they don't under linux, and I do not know if it is something that I am not doing correctly. Thanks, Sergio

plone, open folder in menu by default

hello, I have different usergroups in my plone site, for example: if a user with group "partners" logs in, he gets a menu, with the standard items, and then the folder "Partners Area", this is a folder with all the items specific for users in this group, not visible for other users. but in plone menu, by default, this folder is closed, is it possible to have it open by default? thanks, Olivier

nested records

Am I correct that zope's "item.subitem:record" facility for form submission does not extend to nesting such things? If I have a form of the sort: <input name="item.subitem.subsubitem:record"> I would like it to show up in the request as a record 'item' with an element named 'subitem' that is itself a record containing an element named 'subsubitem'. This doesn't seem to happen. Is this supposed to work and I'm making some other mistake, or is this not part of the functionality? If it isn't, it would be useful to have... Mike

I am pleased to announce the release of TextIndexNG V 3.1.8. TextIndexNG V 3 is a complete new implementation based on Zope 3 technologies and can be used both in Zope 2.8 or in Zope 3. What's new? - multi-field indexing and query support - multi-lingual support - configurable converters (through ZCML) - new indexing API (allowing you to hook your custom content types with TextIndexNG through Zope 3 adapters). Force ZCatalog to UTF-8

Hi all! How can I force ZCatalog to use only unicode strings (UTF-8)? I'm trying to change all zope to use these charset. For that I install Zope 2.9.1 and I change on zope.conf: rest-input-encoding utf-8 rest-output-encoding utf-8 default-zpublisher-encoding utf-8 but ZCatalog don't catalog unicode if the string is not an unicode string (at least I think so) Any idea? redirect after file upload

hello people, I managed to upload a file to the external folder with plonelocalfolderng and simultaniously to a database. but as you all know, after uploading a file with htmlformuploadfile, this automaticly redirects to plfng_view. but I made my own view of the files available in the folder, based on the content of my database. So after upload, I want it to redirect to this page again, and not to the plfng_view of plonelocalfolderNG. I tried putting a javascript in this file, and changing the links in plfng_view, but I can't seem to find just where to put it. maybe someone can help? thanks Olivier

Upgrading to Zope 2.9.1

I am in the process of testing an upgrade from a Zope 2.8.4 system to a Zope 2.9.1 system. The process I used: 1) Install 2.9.1 on a Win2003 system (it happens to be the same one that the 2.8.4 system is running but I changed the config so the ports don't conflict). The installation is successful 2) Copy the Product directory from my functioning 2.8.4 system instance to the 2.9.1 instance 3) copy the ZODB from the functioning 2.8.4 system to the 2.9.1 system All appears to go well -- the 2.9.1 system appears to be running everything from the 2.8.4 system correctly. A deeper check though shows that a few Python scripts in the ZODB (this in a system that has 20 or 30 scripts) fail. Examining the scripts indicates an error at line 3 -- but no such error can be found, however saving the script with no changes eliminates the error and also causes the script to now function. After finding and correcting these scripts everything seems to be working well. Any idea what happened during the upgrade to cause this strange behaviour and how can I avoid it? I will have to go through a similar upgrade at a customer's site and would like to avoid hand checking every script if I can avoid it.
