Zope Debugger is an enhanced version of pdb for use with Zope. This release fixes compatability issues with Zope 2.9 and Python 2.4. It can be used simply by inserting the following lines in any python code you'd like to debug, including Script (Python)'s and FSPythonScripts: from Products.zdb import set_trace set_trace() It requires no changes to Zope, CMF or Plone or any funky interaction with any specific kind of editing software. All you really need to do is insert the snippet above and make sure your Zope instance is running in foreground mode. Update Multiple Records

Hi, I have a web page that goes to a database and pulls out a bunch of records for display and then I gave each field the ability to modify except the primary ID. The problem I'm having is how do I make each field unique so that I can go back to the database and update the record. I was thinking about putting the primary key in the name like: <input type="text" name="lname + ID" value=""> <input type="text" name="fname + ID" value=""> but I don't know how to do that with python. Is there another way to update a bunch of records at once?

Archetype and object_tabs

Hi! I have created a new archetype, I have installed it and it works good. The problem is that the object_tabs(translate option, change status option and add new item option) don't appear for this new content type and I don't know where is the place to specify them. Newbie zopectl question

Hi I have created a zope / plone site which i have deployed on a dedicated server using linux with fedora core 3. I have installed zope as root as setup an instance of zope using a different user. I am trying to setup zope so that it will start automatically when the server is rebooted. I have created a symlink in rc.d to zopectl however this doesnt seem to work. When i run zopectl i get the message daemon manager not running if i enter the start command zope starts. Is there someway of getting zopectl to run at startup and for it to automattically use the start command. error with repozo.py

Hello, I get an error when I want to create a backup with repozo.py. Traceback (most recent call last): File "./repozo.py", line 74, in ? from ZODB.FileStorage import FileStorage ImportError: No module named ZODB.FileStorage I already searched with google for a solution. I found that it could be a problem with PYTHONPATH, but I've set this path already. What else can be wrong ? Regards, Martin Koekenberg

Using tal:attributes in XML with non-ASCII characters

I'm just trying to think of a way of using tal:attributes with non- ASCII characters using the XML parser. At first, I just used a straight tal:attributes with the encoding of the template set to UTF-8 but that threw an expat error. My second attempt was to write a function which replaced all the non- ASCII characters with entities such as Ā Unfortunately his also doesn't work because tal:attributes escapes it into &#256 which then fails. Finally, I tried tal:attributes with my function and the structure keyword but 'structure' isn't supported with tal:attributes. I've tried this on a variety of Zope's from 2.7.5 to 2.8.6 Any ideas would be appreciated. Hi i have set up a plone site and here at : http://www.myplonesite.com:8080/ploneinstance/mypage and i want it to look like http://www.myplonesite.com/mypage what is the best way to achieve this server setup is linux/apache/zope2.8.6/plone2.1.2 i have looked at virutalhostmonster but is it more efficient to use apache mod_rewrite rules? Please give examples as mod_rewrite leaves me confused. Hi, I'm installing Plone from source onto a RedHat EL4 test server using http://plone.org/documentation/how-to/setup-from-source as my reference. I have got as far as "Setting up the software" but this is the part I'm having difficulty understanding "Extract the Plone tarball. This will give you a folder called Plone-2.1 (presuming you have version 2.1), in which you will see a number of products folders, such as CMFPlone and CMFCore. Copy all these product folders (not the top-level Plone- folder) into ~/zope/instance1/Products/." Finding stylesheet

I would like to set up a page template to use the stylesheet my.css if it is in the current folder, but if not to use the one in the root folder. How do I specify this? -- John
