allow access to fileobject depending on role

Hello, I'm having trouble with the precondition field of a fileobject. I've got a fileobject (a PDF-file) and its precondition field states myPrecondition, which is a DTML Method and its code is: <dtml-with "REQUEST['PARENTS'][0]"> <dtml-if expr="_.SecurityGetUser().has_role(['Bobo']) != 1"> <dtml-raise Unauthorized></dtml-raise> </dtml-if> </dtml-with> (source: http://www.zopelabs.com/cookbook/1016369692) The PDF-file should only be displayed when an user has role Bobo. If the user doesn't have the role, an user authentication screen (login screen) is displayed. The Method only works when the browser cache is empty or the file hasn't been openend yet by an user with Bobo-role. I'll explain the situations, both are on localhost. Situation I: - Browser cache is empty. - User without Bobo-role logs in and opens the PDF-file by entering its URL in the browser and gets the login screen. So far so good. Situation II: - User with Bobo-role logs in and opens the PDF-file by entering its URL in the browser and the file is being displayed. - Close browser. - User without Bobo-role logs in and opens the PDF-file by entering its URL in the browser and the file is being displayed. Not so good. The user without Bobo-role in situation II should get a login screen. Apparently because the file is in the browser cache, the user is authenticated. Does anybody know a solution to this problem or some other solution for allowing access to a fileobject depending on the role an user has? Note: Using the security setting and assigning roles is not an option because the fileobject is recreated every night. Kind regards, Leandros -- The Netherlands

Zope will not allow access after IP address change

Hello, I cannot seem to access the zope management interface on one of our machines after we moved it to another ISP. All the software is the same, the machine is the same, the only things changed are; 1. /etc/hosts 2. hostname 3. IP address Is there some security or other mechanism in zope that prevents zope from starting? Thanks, Jeremiah

Z SQL Method question

Hello, Who has experience with Z SQL Method. I Created a from to enten some data into MySQL server. I used Z SQL Method to write the dat into the databse. Everytime I submit the form I get a screen with the field in my Z SQL Method component. How can I write the dat from a form into my database at once by using Z SQL Method ? relevance ranking in ZCTextIndex or equivalent

Hi, I'm planning to implement a text search where (match against the title) ranks more highly than (match in the description) ranks more highly than (matches against the body text). Titles and descriptions are short bits of text, so results in these categories can be ranked just by the frequency that the word appears in that part of the text. Matches against the body text should ideally be ranked more like ZCTextIndex rather than plain frequency. My ideas are: - do three separate searches, and then concatenate the result sets together. problem: making sure there are no duplicates in the list without parsing all the results in their entirety. - hijack the 'scoring' part of the index, so those results with matches in the title can have their scores artificially heightened to achieve the ordering i want problem: it's compleletely opaque without a lot of study whether this would achieve what i want. i'd also need to index the items so the index knew what was in the title, which could be a problem. - index title, description and text separately, and then use dieter's AdvancedQuery product to do the query and combine results problem: is it possible to get at the scores when the documents are returned from the index to be able to order them? are the scores returned separately, or will each query overwrite the last one? Has anyone ever tried to do this - or got any pointers - at all? Thanks in advance, Miles

os module on different os's

I have a Zope application that runs on WinXP and Debian sarge without problems. I am using os.popen and popen2 to run locally installed applications and use their output in Zope (particularly aspell and diction). On Ubuntu Dapper and FC5 however, these os calls fail. Is there a problem with recent Distros and this module? Python version is 2.3 on all systems but I tried 2.4 on FC5 and that failed too. regards garry

Internet Explorer does not follows redirect, while Firefox does

Hi all. I don't think this is a specific Zope problem. However, I'm experiencing it in a Zope context, and this is why I'm here asking. In a custom Zope application, we have a problem with Internet Explorer. The application follows a "page -> submit -> redirect -> page" cycle. To state more clearly: the page presented to the user can have a link. When the user clicks on the link, something is done, and eventually the user is redirected to the same page which will display different data based on the results of its previous click. The problem is that when IE sees that the result page has the same URL as the first page it does not reload the page and instead shows me the cached version. The problem is not shown with Firefox. As far as I can understand, this is an HTTP header issue, but I would like to know if anyone already has experienced this problem, and has some solution about it.
